Alan Stivell Brian Boru MP3

Alan Stivell Brian Boru imageLead single “Brian Boru” and “Let The Plinn” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. IF YOU LIKE ALL Alan Stivell’S SONG GO FOR IT! Alan Stivell’s debut, ‘Brian Boru’, does not fit easily into one genre. I greatly enjoyed this CD.

Let The Plinn is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Mna na hEireann was the first single release from the album Brian Boru. Ye Banks and Braes is perfect. Mairi’s Wedding - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Album opener Cease Fire is a bright, upbeat ditty. From the moment you listen to De’ ha bla’ you’re hooked. Alan Stivell is one of artists that allow his songs like Sword Dance to stand on their own and be heard. Parlamant Lament is a excellent sing-along. In Lands Of My Father you won’t find any flashy solos.
