Lead single “Crossing” and “Nothing to Say” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Angra was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Angra and Holy Land together. This disc has all of the essential Angra classics. If I may, I suggest “Crossing”. That one song is amazing!
Nothing to Say is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Silence and Distance is the first taste of the new album. Opening track Carolina IV shows the best of Angra. I now have Holy Land as one of my personal favorites. The Shaman hits the heart. In Make Believe the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Z.I.T.O. make listening to Angra like being in some sort of time warp. I love the melodic melody of Deep Blue and to this day it makes me feel good. Lullaby for Lucifer one is one of the better boring ones. Queen of the Night (Japanese Bonus Track) has a fun tempo.
