Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Anthony Braxton comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Now signed to Anthony Braxton’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Six Standards (Quintet) 1996 - with Dave Douglas” leads Anthony Braxton’s back-to-school campaign. After seeing Woody’n You, I had to have a good Anthony Braxton cd. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Blues And The Abstract Truth is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Ruby My Dear is a fine track on any terms. Like Sonny - A strong beat. Lazy Bird is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Dee’s Dilemma (11:06) - awsome.
