On 1993 Surfing On Sine Waves (as Polygon Window) album, Aphex Twin have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Aphex Twin has. Self-described as Drum & Bass with lots of words, Aphex Twin comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Great Drum & Bass right here!
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. 03 - Quoth is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Aphex Twin. First time I heard 05 - Supremacy II was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.06 - Ut1 - Dot gives good insight into the truths. 07 - Untitled is a amazing sing-along. 08 - Quixote is a bit different from Aphex Twin stereotypical stuff. Although 09 - Quino-Phec is very melodic it is far from sad.
