Aphex Twin had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Since Aphex Twin last CD (Girl # Boy CDEP (1996)) on SixSteps records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. Since completing 1996’s ‘01 - Girl Boy Song [nls mix]’, Aphex Twin fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Exciting stuff.
Opening track 02 - Milk Man shows the best of Aphex Twin. 04 - Girl Boy Song [l18 snarerush mix] is a strong cut, one of many. After you’ve listened to 05 - Beetles, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. 06 - Girl Boy Song [redruth mix] gives taste of what makes Aphex Twin special as a musician.
