This disc has all of the essential Aphex Twin classics. Since completing 1994’s ‘Cliffs’, Aphex Twin fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I am not a real Dance music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd1)’ really is amazing. This is my first Aphex Twin Album and i must say i am blown away.
I like Radiator because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Rhubarb is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd1). Hankie is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. This is one hell of a track. There is marvelous mix of music in Mold. Curtains is probably the most interesting track on Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd1). Simple and heartfelt closing track Blur closes Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd1) on a high note. I hope to keep hearing Aphex Twin works for a long time to come. Tree is the albums biggest surprise. Domino makes a person feel excellent. White Blur 1 is another strong production from Aphex Twin.
