‘Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd2)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. I am not a real Dance music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd2)’ really is amazing. Self-described as Dance with lots of words, Aphex Twin comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Unappreciated gift to Dance
Put Parallel Stripes into car stereo for your highway driving In Shiny Metal Rods it becomes nowhere more obvious that Aphex Twin has yet to define own style. Grey Stripe is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd2). It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. After about the third Hexagon listen through, I began to believe this song is Aphex Twin’s essence. Lichen which is my favorite is a truly Aphex Twin sounding song. Spots is a great opener for Selected Ambient Works Volume (cd2). Tassels have really caught my ear and imagination. The sound of White Blur 2 is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Match Sticks sets the tone for the entire album.
