This -song debut EP shows the promise that Aphrodite’s Child has. Since completing 1996’s ‘Such a funny night’, Aphrodite’s Child fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It’s natural for Aphrodite’s Child to take a stab at ‘Such a funny night’ considering her long-professed love for East 17. If I may, I suggest “Such a funny night”. That one song is amazing!
Annabella is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Although Good time so fine is very melodic it is far from sad. Funky Mary - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Spring, summer, winter and fal is a bit different from Aphrodite’s Child stereotypical stuff. Air make listening to Aphrodite’s Child like being in some sort of time warp. Break is simply cool. After you’ve listened to Babylon, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. The four horsemen marked the continuation of Aphrodite’s Child in style evolution. Vocals of Aphrodite’s Child in The lamb really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. The seventh seal is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Aegian sea is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The Complete Collection (CD2). The marching beast is one of the best records ever. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. I love the melodic melody of All the seats were occupied and to this day it makes me feel good.
