This album has some very good songs like Cheerful Little Earful and Makin’ Whoopee. When you buy a Barney Kessel album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Barney Kessel comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Blew our minds when we first heard Makin’ Whoopee. My Reverie - A strong beat. Blues For A Playboy defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Mountain Greenery (3:50) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Indian Summer is a perfect sing-along. Gone With The Wind hits the heart. Laura - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. The sound in I Love You is really warm and Barney Kessel’s signature voice is still very much present. Fascinating Rhythm - Barney Kessel first major hit.
