While no new B.B.King album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Asia. Lucille and Friends is an amazing album, racked with beauty.B.B.King had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Exciting stuff.
Playin With My Friends is a medium tempo tune. To Know You Is To Love You have really caught my ear and imagination. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. All You Ever Give Me Is The Blues is a strong cut, one of many. I came to like You Shook Me. The sound of Spirit In The Dark is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Song Can’t Get Enough is actually a funny song. Since I Met You Baby - I like this one. I believe BB’s Blues is one of the most cool, heartfelt songs ever written. Better Not Look Down is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Lyrics of Frosty are precise and evocative. B.B.King offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Ghetto Woman is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Let The Good Times Roll is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
