It’s natural for Big Joe Turner to take a stab at ‘Roll ‘Em Pete’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. It has been sixteen years Big Joe Turner’ last studio CD, “Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1″ which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1 is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Overall, I would highly recommend Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1 CD.
Goin’ Away Blues (Takes 1 & 2) - I just love it. Cherry Red - For me, this is the best of the album. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. So much energy, so exciting a sound. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Rocks In My Bed is a exquisite song and it grows on you. Music in Blues On Central Avenue is amazing as in all tracks of Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1. I like Sun Risin’ Blues because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Johnson & Turner Blues is probably the most interesting track on Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1. I’m A Lovin’ Man (live) on Big, Bad and Blue Vol.1 is solid and easy to listen to. My Gal’s A Jockey marked the continuation of Big Joe Turner in style evolution. Sally Zu-Zazz good vocals. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Battle Of The Blues, Pt. 1 is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Hollywood Red (Cherry Red Blues) one of the best in my collection. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Radar Blues. Tell Me Pretty Baby actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Big Joe Turner’s face. Wine-O-Baby Boogie is nothing but pure genius.
