This is one of the best Cd’s Big Joe Turner has dropped to date. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Big Joe Turner has. On Big, Bad and Blue Vol.2 album, Big Joe Turner have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
First time I heard Still In The Dark was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Chains Of Love is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. The Chill Is On make listening to Big Joe Turner like being in some sort of time warp. Bump Miss Susie had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Sweet Sixteen is a cool, simple song by Big Joe Turner at the top of his game. Don’t You Cry is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Honey Hush can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Big Joe Turner is all about. One listen to the sheer beauty of Crawdad Hole was all I needed. TV Mama is astounding work of Big Joe Turner. Oke-She-Moke-She-Pop is one of the best records ever. A unique and uplifting song. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Married Woman stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. In Well All Right it becomes nowhere more obvious that Big Joe Turner has yet to define own style. Nice and different song. Big Joe Turner allows each song to breathe and flourish. Put In The Evening (When The Sun Goes Down) into car stereo for your highway driving
