This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Bill Frisell. four years ago, Bill Frisell briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Go Jake”. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Bill Frisell energies, virtually a rebirth. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Go Jake is the album’s biggest hit, I think. The first time I listened to One Of These Days I was struck by its exquisite sound. Mr. Memory - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Brother make listening to Bill Frisell like being in some sort of time warp. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Keep Your Eyes Open is probably the highlight of the album. Once Pipe Down gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Family is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. From the moment you listen to We’re Not From Around Here you’re hooked. Dogwood Acres is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Shucks is a good listen every once in a while. The End Of The World is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Gone - A catchy, upbeat tune.
