There were many famous songs of Bireli Lagrene available. It’s natural for Bireli Lagrene to take a stab at ‘Daphne’ considering her long-professed love for Madonna. Lead single “Daphne” and “Moppin’ The Bride” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Such great and happy songs.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on My Favorite Django is Moppin’ The Bride. Babik is gorgeous work of Bireli Lagrene. Music in Melodie Au Crepuscle is excellent as in all tracks of My Favorite Django. Place De Brouckere is probably the highlight of the album. Nuages very upbeat. Blues For Ike - This is a very lively song. When listening to Nuits De Saint Germain Des Pres, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Vocals of Bireli Lagrene in Clair De Lune really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Strong, powerful vocals of Bireli Lagrene in Troublant Bolero are very impressive. Solo is the funkiest number on the album.
