Self-described as Instrumental with lots of words, Blue Knights comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. I am not a real Instrumental music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Blue Night’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Blue Knights energies, virtually a rebirth. Smart music for smart people.
Only one song from Blue Night named Slow Blow really got me. Catwalk hits the heart. Cindy is one of these floating songs. French Kiss is a bit of a show-tune. Blue Knights rocks harder than ever with 1250 Ocean Drive. Copa Cabana has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. I’ve found myself listening to En Vogue back to back and back many times. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Blue Night. Blue Knights allows each song to breathe and flourish. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Best song on the album, love it. Cruisin’ is perfect. Last Sunset - A nice song.
