This is one of the best Cd’s Blues Traveler has dropped to date. Lead single “Run-Around” and “Stand” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Blues Traveler energies, virtually a rebirth. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Blues Traveler ever.
I like Stand because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. In Look Around it becomes nowhere more obvious that Blues Traveler has yet to define own style. Fallible pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. As always, Blues Traveler’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. The sound of Crash & Burn is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. After you’ve listened to Price To Pay, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Hook hits the heart. Good, The Bad And The Ugly is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Just Wait as a highlight of Four contains a ton of perfect melodies. Blues Traveler is hitting on all cylinders in Brother John.
