It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Brownie Mcghee energies, virtually a rebirth. Brownie Mcghee had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. ‘The Complete Brownie Mcghee CD1′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Put Me and My Dog Blues into car stereo for your highway driving Born For Bad Luck gives taste of what makes Brownie Mcghee special as a musician. I’m Callin’ Daisy is marvelous song though, very addictive. The sound in Step It Up and Go is really warm and Brownie Mcghee’s signature voice is still very much present. My Barkin’ Bulldog Blues is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Brownie Mcghee emotions are reflected through Let Me Tell You ‘Bout My Baby. Prison Woman Blues as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Listening to Back Door Stranger you can hear that Brownie Mcghee has still amazing chemistry with band members. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Complete Brownie Mcghee CD1 off to a relaxing start. Not Guilty Blues is a bit different from Brownie Mcghee stereotypical stuff. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Step It Up and Go No. 2 has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Money Spending Woman is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Complete Brownie Mcghee CD1. Death Of Blind Boy Fuller #1 is a medium tempo tune. What sets Death Of Blind Boy Fuller #2 apart is Brownie Mcghee’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. All of songs on The Complete Brownie Mcghee CD1 and have something to say letting alone Got To Find My Little Woman. I’m Black Woman’s Man #1 - another great track from the The Complete Brownie Mcghee CD1 album. I’m Black Woman’s Man #2 is a very catchy tune. Dealing With The Devil - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Double Trouble is another favourite of mine. Double Trouble #1 is one of my favorite songs by Brownie Mcghee. Woman, I’m Done have really caught my ear and imagination.
