There is so much to love about Bud Powell, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 2′ really is amazing. Since completing 1994’s ‘I’ll remember April’, Bud Powell fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is my first Bud Powell Album and i must say i am blown away.
Indiana is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Somebody Loves Me is astounding and different song. I Should Care (3:02) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Bud’s Bubble is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Off Minor - A strong beat. Nice Work If You Can Get It is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Everything Happens to Me is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Blew our minds when we first heard Bouncing with Bud. Bouncing with Bud I just LOVE this mix! Wail is the funkiest number on the album. Wail as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This song may be the most meaningful. Dance of Infidels is one of my favorite songs by Bud Powell. 52nd Street Theme gives taste of what makes Bud Powell special as a musician. You Go to my Head defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Ornithology is absolutely incredible. Ornithology is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Un Poco Loco one of the best in my collection. Un Poco Loco - a classic song. Strong, powerful vocals of Bud Powell in Un Poco Loco are very impressive. Over the Rainbow is a good listen every once in a while.
