Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Bud Powell on ‘Blue Pearl’. While no new Bud Powell album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in South America. It has been one years Bud Powell’ last studio CD, “The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 4″ which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Bud Powell is one of my favourite bands of all time.
This song may be the most meaningful. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 4 off to a relaxing start. Some Soul is one of these floating songs. Frantic Frances is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 4. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Overall a nice softer song. All of songs on The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 4 and have something to say letting alone Don’t Blame Me. A fantastic track full of wonder. I came to like John’s Abbey. Sub City is the funkiest number on the album. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. I love the melodic melody of John’s Abbey and to this day it makes me feel good. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
