It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Buddy Guy energies, virtually a rebirth. Live! The Real Deal (with G.E. Smith and The Saturday Night Live Band) is the best essence of Buddy Guy.
Sweet Black Angel (Black Angel Blues) is a gorgeous, simple song by Buddy Guy at the top of his game. It’s such an underrated song. My Time After Awhile is almost impossible to review. A great put together song. Damn Right I’ve Got The Blues is one of the coolest songs Buddy Guy has ever recorded. First Time I Met The Blues pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Don’t judge Let Me Love You Baby on the first listening.
