Since Caetano Veloso last CD (Fina Estampa Ao Vivo) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Caetano Veloso on ‘Soy Loco por Ti, America’. Great Latin right here!
Caetano Veloso has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. In Ay, Amor! Caetano Veloso is at his best. O Pulsar is excellent work of Caetano Veloso. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Fina Estampa Ao Vivo. La Barca is one of the coolest songs Caetano Veloso has ever recorded. Voce Esteve com Meu Bem is one of my favorite songs by Caetano Veloso. Vete de Mi - A strong beat. Suas Mros can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Caetano Veloso is all about. I came to like L bios Que Beijei. Can’o de Amor gives taste of what makes Caetano Veloso special as a musician. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Simple and heartfelt closing track Haiti closes Fina Estampa Ao Vivo on a high note. Fina Estampa is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Fina Estampa Ao Vivo have ended. O Samba e o Tango is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Lamento Borincano is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
