thirteen years ago, Cafe Del Mar briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Tones (Nova Nova)”. This is the first studio album from Cafe Del Mar since bad diagnosis in 1996. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Cafe Del Mar energies, virtually a rebirth. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Tones (Nova Nova)
Charming song, great melody. What sets Sueno Con Mexico (Pat Metheny) apart is Cafe Del Mar’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Blue Bar (Afterlife) is a medium tempo tune. Emotions Of Paradise (Miro) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Cafe Del Mar rocks harder than ever with Panama Bazaar (Eighth Wave). Once you hear Dusk (Pressure Drop), you will listen to it over and over. Asia (Alex Neri) - My least favorite song on this album. Strong, powerful vocals of Cafe Del Mar in Dust Of Life (Fazed Idjuts Feat. Sally Rodgers) are very impressive. I love the melodic melody of My Freedom (Beat Foundation) and to this day it makes me feel good.
