Canadian brass had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Jim Jones has compared writing for Canadian brass’s new album to that on ‘Ragtime’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. For older fans Ragtime will put a massive smile accross your face. If you want to hear real Easy Listening, get this record now!
Ragtime Waltz is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Ellington Medley is the most memorable and astounding. I found love is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Alligator Crawl - F. Waller is really the reason why I recommend buying Ragtime. Canadian brass is one of artists that allow his songs like Three Spirituals (Go Down Moses - My Lord, What a Morning - Joshua) to stand on their own and be heard. St James Infirmary gives good insight into the truths. Ballin’ the Jack gives taste of what makes Canadian brass special as a musician. Kitten on the Keys is a very catchy tune. This track is a great song that still never gets old. In A Whiter Shade of Pale Canadian brass spins a tale you want to hear to the end. As always, Canadian brass’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Cracked Ice Rag - This is a very lively song. Contrapunctus IX - Art of the fugue, BWV 1080 (rAGTIME VERSION) is the album’s biggest hit, I think. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. London Blues - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Canadian brass. Canadian brass has astounded me with this amazing track. Maple Leaf (Joplin) is a bit of a show-tune. Just a closer walk with thee is a exquisite, simple song by Canadian brass at the top of his game.
