Since Candy Dulfer last CD (Sax-A-Go-Go) on Sparrow Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Candy Dulfer energies, virtually a rebirth. It has been sixteen years Candy Dulfer’ last studio CD, “Sax-A-Go-Go” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is one of Candy Dulfer best albums
Sax-A-Go-Go gets you up and jumping. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Man in the Desert - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Bob’s Jazz is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Sax-A-Go-Go have ended. I have all of Candy Dulfer’s tracks and Jamming is probably the most his introspective effort. In I Can’t Make You Love Me you won’t find any flashy solos. The sound of Pick Up the Pieces is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Candy Dulfer has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Sunday Afternoon - A nice song.
