Since completing 1994’s ‘Walk Tall’, Cannonball Adderley fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It’s natural for Cannonball Adderley to take a stab at ‘Walk Tall’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. There is no doubt that Cannonball Adderley has talent. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Country Preacher is one of these floating songs. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Country Preacher Live at Operation Breadbasket. Oh Babe defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. I came to like Afro-Spanish Omlet: Umbakwen, Soli Tomba, Oiga…. The Scene is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
