fifteen years ago, Capital Inicial briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “O Passageiro”. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Capital Inicial’s new album to that on ‘Ao Vivo’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Capital Inicial energies, virtually a rebirth. IF you love Capital Inicial, ‘Ao Vivo’ Mp3’s is the best!
O Passageiro marked the continuation of Capital Inicial in style evolution. I listened to the opening track Mickey Mouse em Moscou and liked it a lot. Podres Poderes is possibly the best song Capital Inicial has come up. Fogo is simple, dignified and effective, Capital Inicial refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. After you’ve listened to Belos e Malditos, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Autoridades - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Capital Inicial. Projetos Engavetados is really a nice song to relax and listen too. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Put Musica Urbana into car stereo for your highway driving Jiboia’s Bar is a bit different from Capital Inicial stereotypical stuff. Kamikaze is a strong cut, one of many. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Leve Desespero. Lyrics of Independencia are precise and evocative. One listen to the sheer beauty of Veraneio Vascaina was all I needed. In Sera Que e Amor full palet of sound is used by Capital Inicial to accentuate the presentation. The song feels complete.
