Musical Shapes is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Carlene Carter on ‘C’Mon Feets’. It’s natural for Carlene Carter to take a stab at ‘C’Mon Feets’ considering her long-professed love for U2. If I may, I suggest “C’Mon Feets”. That one song is amazing!
|titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Musical Shapes. Too Many Teardrops as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Do Me Lover - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. I now have Me And My .38 as one of my personal favorites. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I Need A Hit is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. After few listenings I started to like Tougher Stuff more and more. Overall a nice softer song. That Boy is the albums biggest surprise. Carlene Carter is one of artists that allow his songs like Love Is A 4-Letter Verb to stand on their own and be heard. Such hits like Oh How Happy will leave you hooked. Too Proud is Carlene Carter’s best work in years. Too Drunk (To Remember) is the most memorable and excellent. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. If The Shoe Fits - Okay, I just talked about depth. Home Run Hitter can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Carlene Carter is all about. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Musical Shapes. Foggy Mountain Top on Musical Shapes is solid and easy to listen to. That Very First Kiss - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Too Bad About Sandy is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Ring Of Fire hits the heart. A great put together song. There is cool mix of music in I’m So Cool. Bandit Of Love is a fine track on any terms. Baby Ride Easy - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Cry is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Madness rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo.
