There is no doubt that Cat Power has talent. Jim Jones has compared writing for Cat Power’s new album to that on ‘What Would The Community Think’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since Cat Power last CD (What Would The Community Think) on EMI Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is what good Indie should be.
Good Clean Fun is nothing but pure genius. When I listen to What Would The Community Think in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Nude As The News is the album’s biggest hit, I think. They Tell Me is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. From the moment you listen to Taking People you’re hooked. You can find feelings on this piece of art. King Rides By have really caught my ear and imagination. Cat Power has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. I listened to the opening track Water and Air and liked it a lot. Cat Power offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Coat Is Always On is the song that really did it for me.
