Paint the World isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Chick Corea’s Elektric Band II comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. While no new Chick Corea’s Elektric Band II album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1993 tour in Africa. If I may, I suggest “Paint The World”. That one song is amazing!
The sound in Blue Miles is really warm and Chick Corea’s Elektric Band II’s signature voice is still very much present. Tone Poem very upbeat. Such hits like CTA will leave you hooked. In Silhouette full palet of sound is used by Chick Corea’s Elektric Band II to accentuate the presentation. Space is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. The Ant & The Elephant - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I like Tumba Island because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Ritual. I loved Ished the first time I heard it. The sound of Spanish Sketch is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Final Frontier as a highlight of Paint the World contains a ton of astounding melodies. Reprise - This is a very lively song.
