Chris Isaak was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Chris Isaak and Forever Blue together. While no new Chris Isaak album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in North America. Lead single “Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing” and “Somebody’s Crying” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Somebody’s Crying - I just love it. Graduation Day is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Go Walking Down There - My least favorite song on this album. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Don’t Leave Me On My Own. Things Go Wrong is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Forever Blue as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. There She Goes - a classic song. In Goin’ Nowhere full palet of sound is used by Chris Isaak to accentuate the presentation. Music and lyrics of Changed Your Mind creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Shadows In A Mirror - another great track from the Forever Blue album. This is one hell of a track. Such hits like End Of Everything, The will leave you hooked.
