Jazz Turns Samba carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Since Claudio Roditi last CD (Jazz Turns Samba) on Capitol Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. Claudio Roditi was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Claudio Roditi and Jazz Turns Samba together. Jazz Turns Samba touched my soul like nothing else.
Birk’s Works is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Speak Low - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Without a Song is a great opener for Jazz Turns Samba. Music of Come Rain or Come Shine is gentle, never overbearing. Charming song, great melody. Moanin’ is one of my favorite songs by Claudio Roditi. I was truly moved when I heard Moment’s Notice. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Inside Out is almost impossible to review.
