This disc has all of the essential Dance - Various Artists classics. There is so much to love about Dance - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “Intro: Ropes, Ribbons and A Ball” and “Far Behind The Skies” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Shivas dance.
Strong, powerful vocals of Dance - Various Artists in Far Behind The Skies are very impressive. Fly Away is pretty funky and mellow. The sound of Shiva’s Dance is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. White Flower, Blue Flower is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Opening track We’ll Be With The Stars Tonight shows the best of Dance - Various Artists. Brahmane’s Prayer was the first single release from the album Shivas dance. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Shivas dance. Take Me Higher is the funkiest number on the album. Karma stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. In Oazee you won’t find any flashy solos. Door To Himalaya on Shivas dance is solid and easy to listen to. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time.
