ten years ago, Dave Brubeck briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Blues for Newport”. John Digester has compared writing for Dave Brubeck’s new album to that on ‘Nightshift - Live at the Blue Note’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. There were many famous songs of Dave Brubeck available. Dave Brubeck is one of my favourite bands of all time.
If you are a Dave Brubeck fan, you will love Blues for Newport. Best song on the album, love it. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Knives. River Stay ‘Way from My Door is exquisite and different song. Thank You gets you up and jumping. Travelin’ Blues - This one is lively and fun. Yesterdays is one of the best records ever. Some of the arrangements found on Nightshift - Live at the Blue Note are surprisingly edgy.
