Sugar Mouth carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by David Kilgour. Sugar Mouth is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This album is awesome.
Simple and heartfelt closing track Fallaway closes Sugar Mouth on a high note. 1987 is simple, dignified and effective, David Kilgour refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Filter gives taste of what makes David Kilgour special as a musician. Beached is probably the highlight of the album. The opening track Nail In My Foot is very much like you would expect from other albums. Waiting Round On You - arguably the best track on Sugar Mouth album. Crazy is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Sugar Mouth is Listen To The Rain. Look At It catches attention immediately, Recollection is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. David Kilgour is hitting on all cylinders in Never End. The song feels complete. The sound in Look At It (El Speedo, Session Out Take) is really warm and David Kilgour’s signature voice is still very much present. Still going through Sugar Mouth and coming to appreciate Filter (Demo) more and more with every listen. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it.
