There were many famous songs of dEUS available. six years ago, dEUS briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Fell Off The Floor Man”. Lead single “I Don’t Mind Whatever Happens” and “Fell Off The Floor Man” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. In A Bar Under The Sea is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. After you’ve listened to Opening Night, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Theme From Turnpike is one of the more up-tempo songs on In A Bar Under The Sea. In Little Arithmetics dEUS is at his best. Gimme The Heat defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Serpentine is worth the money. A Shocking Lack Thereof - another great track from the In A Bar Under The Sea album. The song feels complete. I love the melodic melody of Memory Of A Festival and to this day it makes me feel good. Guilty Pleasures is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Nine Threads is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Disappointed In The Sun is simple, dignified and effective, dEUS refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Wake Me Up Before I Sleep is another favourite of mine.
