Dexter Gordon’s debut, ‘Blue Note (CD2)’, does not fit easily into one genre. On the Australia charts, superstar Dexter Gordon’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Dexter Gordon comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is my first Dexter Gordon Album and i must say i am blown away.
Smile is another strong production from Dexter Gordon. I can’t stop playing Ernie’s Tune. This track is clearly meant to showcase Dexter Gordon’s vocal abilities. The End Of A Love Affair - I like this one. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. First time I heard You Said It was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Love Locked Out was the first single release from the album Blue Note (CD2). Blue Gardenia is probably one of Dexter Gordon’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Listening to Second Balcony Jump you can hear that Dexter Gordon has still amazing chemistry with band members. Six Bits Jones - Check out that bassline! Lady Be Good is a astounding song and it grows on you. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect.
