Dexter Gordon was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Dexter Gordon and Blue Note (CD6) together. There is no doubt that Dexter Gordon has talent. Blue Note (CD6) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Blue Note (CD6) is the best essence of Dexter Gordon.
After few listenings I started to like Manha De Carnaval more and more. Flick Of A Trick is one of the best records ever. Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Very Saxily Yours is a great opener for Blue Note (CD6). Shiny Stockings is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Who Can I Turn To is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Heartaches is a striking and quite long song. Dexter On Bird (Monologue By Dexter Gordon) is probably the most interesting track on Blue Note (CD6).
