While no new Duke Ellington album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in Africa. Jazz Masters 4 is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Jazz Masters 4 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Such great and happy songs.
This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Flirtibird is another favourite of mine. A fantastic track full of wonder. Vocals of Duke Ellington in Loveless Love really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Going Up (4:53) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Duke Ellington. Stompy Jones - For me, this is the best of the album. Caravan is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Jazz Masters 4. Although Perdido is very melodic it is far from sad. Jam With Sam is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Rockin’ in Rhythm presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Jazz Masters 4.
