Since Emam and Friends last CD (Instruments of Devotion) on Blue Note Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Emam and Friends to take a stab at ‘Oh Mata’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. There were many famous songs of Emam and Friends available. Exciting stuff.
Emam and Friends must have run out of lyrics on the next track Raghu Nanadan. Hanuman Chalisa has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Emam and Friends’s strong vocals come to the fore. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. The sound in Arti is really warm and Emam and Friends’s signature voice is still very much present. In Siddhasanasin you won’t find any flashy solos. Emam and Friends breathes new life into the music in Shankara Daya. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Kali Kali Ma hits the heart.
