Songs of the West carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. On Songs of the West album, Emmylou Harris have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Now signed to Emmylou Harris’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Songs of the West” leads Emmylou Harris’s back-to-school campaign. I wish that “Songs of the West” album was instrumental.
I can’t stop playing Even Cowgirls Get The Blues. Emmylou Harris allows each song to breathe and flourish. Sweetheart Of The Rodeo is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Queen Of The Silver Dollar is just simply stunning. One Paper Kid is really the reason why I recommend buying Songs of the West. Rose Of Cimarron still maintains something of a specific flourish. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Spanish Is A Loving Tongue, which shows, blatantly, how much Emmylou Harris has evolved as a singer. A fantastic track full of wonder. Blew our minds when we first heard Montana Cowgirl.
