White Shoes is an amazing album, racked with beauty.On the Turkey charts, superstar Emmylou Harris’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Self-described as Country with lots of words, Emmylou Harris comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Pledging My Love
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Pledging My Love is my favorite song on White Shoes. In In My Dreams full palet of sound is used by Emmylou Harris to accentuate the presentation. White Shoes is so unique, as each one of the songs is. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Once you hear It’s Only Rock & Roll, you will listen to it over and over. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Lyrics of Good News are precise and evocative. Baby, Better Start Turnin’ ‘Em Down is the albums biggest surprise. Like an Old Fashioned Waltz is one of the coolest songs Emmylou Harris has ever recorded.
