IF YOU LIKE ALL Ensemble Unicorn’S SONG GO FOR IT! Music of the Troubadours (Early Music; NAXOS 8.554257) is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Music of the Troubadours (Early Music; NAXOS 8.554257) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Unappreciated gift to Classical
Best song on the album, love it. Giraut de Bornelh /c.1140-c.1200): Non puesc sofrir; Peire Cardenal (?1180-?1278): Ar me puesc (contrafactum) is possibly the best song Ensemble Unicorn has come up. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Raimon de Miraval (fl. 1180-1215): Bel m’es qu’ieu chant is simple, dignified and effective, Ensemble Unicorn refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Ramon Lull (c.1232-1315): Cantaben els osells is a strong cut, one of many. Berenguier de Palou: Ai tal domna which is my favorite is a truly Ensemble Unicorn sounding song. In Ginraut de Bornelh: Reis glorios Ensemble Unicorn spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Album opener Anon. (Monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses): Ara lausatz, lausat, lausat is a bright, upbeat ditty. The sound of Guiraut Riquier (c.1230-c.1300): Humils forfaitz is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. First time I heard Bernart de Ventadorn (c.1130-40 - c.1190-1200): Quian vei la lauzetamover was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Listening to Jaufre Rudel (fl. mid-12 century): Lanquan li jorn you can hear that Ensemble Unicorn has still amazing chemistry with band members.
