On the France charts, superstar Ethnic - Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Afghanistan: A Journey to an Unknown Musical World isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. While no new Ethnic - Various Artists album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Europe. Afghanistan: A Journey to an Unknown Musical World is not something you should pass up.
Shah Kokojan is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Spring Song from Istalif without a doubt is the standout song of Afghanistan: A Journey to an Unknown Musical World. Vocals of Ethnic - Various Artists in Shighnani Flower, Lovesong from Takhar really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Farkhari Song, Lovesong Form Badakhshan stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Laili and Madjnun, Ballad form Kunduz - Okay, I just talked about depth. After few listenings I started to like My Beloved Walks in the Garden, Lovesong from the Mazar Region more and more. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Although Bulbul, Song from the Mazar Region is very melodic it is far from sad. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Babolale, Lovesong from Paktia is my favorite song on Afghanistan: A Journey to an Unknown Musical World. Yellow Flower, Shepherd Song Form Paktia is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. I like the idea behind Sarinda Solo. From the moment you listen to Laila, Lovesong from Logar you’re hooked. Nuristani Dancesong is such a gorgeous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Blew our minds when we first heard Nuristani Women’s Song. The song feels complete. Syamui and Jalali, Lovesong Form Herat - Check out that bassline!
