This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Ethnic - Various Artists has. Now signed to Ethnic - Various Artists’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “Japan - Ancient Court Music and Koto Melodies” leads Ethnic - Various Artists’s back-to-school campaign. Japan - Ancient Court Music and Koto Melodies carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This album is a scorcher!
In Karyobin no Kyu full palet of sound is used by Ethnic - Various Artists to accentuate the presentation. Ryoorajo - A classic Ethnic - Various Artists track. I can’t stop humming along Go Dan no Shirabe. Shinmakka is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Engiraku is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Roku Dan no Shirabe still maintains something of a specific flourish. Ichikotsucho Ranryooo no Ha is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Hassen no Ha is exquisite work of Ethnic - Various Artists. Hassen no Kyu pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. The song Nanadan no Shirabe ending is my favorite… so catchy!
