ten years ago, Fernando Machado Soares briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Senhora D’aires”. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Fernando Machado Soares on ‘A Ilha E Sonho’. Self-described as Folk with lots of words, Fernando Machado Soares comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. IT makes me wanna dance!
This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Elegia is nothing but pure genius. Santa Luzia on The Fado Of Coimbra is solid and easy to listen to. Variations In A Minor without a doubt is the standout song of The Fado Of Coimbra. Teu Nome is the most memorable and amazing. Balada Para Uma Vida is the funkiest number on the album. Noites De Festa good vocals. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Fado Of Coimbra. Music of Cancao De Alcipe is gentle, never overbearing. Trova Du Vento Que Passa (3:29) - awsome. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
