This album has some very good songs like Capriccio For Chinese Flute and The Flower Of Hsin-Jang. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Folk - Various Artists energies, virtually a rebirth. When you buy a Folk - Various Artists album, you know exactly what you’re getting! To me Folk - Various Artists is the best band ever.
Although The Flower Of Hsin-Jang is very melodic it is far from sad. A Tayal Folk Song - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. The Funny Genius On The Horseb - To me, this is the best song on the Chinese Bamboo Flute Music. After you’ve listened to Go Dating With My Love, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. The Maidens Of The Tea Mountai - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. The sound of Chatting With An Old Friend By is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. The Song Of The Four Seasons - Check out that bassline! The Crab and The Egret still maintains something of a specific flourish.
