Folk - Various Artists had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Folk - Various Artists on ‘Mike & The Mechanics - Over my shoulder’. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Folk - Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘Festivalbar 1995 Compilation CD2′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. If you love Folk - Various Artists as much as I do, then Folk - Various Artists Festivalbar 1995 Compilation CD2 is the CD for you!
Everything But The Girl - Missing (Todd Terry Remix) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This track is clearly meant to showcase Folk - Various Artists’s vocal abilities. Ray Charles - No time to waste time is a bit of a show-tune. Charles & Eddie - I’m gonna love you (24-7-365) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. A great put together song. Album opener Bjork - Army of me is a bright, upbeat ditty. Once Rednex - Old pop in an oak gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Corona - Baby baby is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Jam & Spoon feat. Plavka - Angel (Ladadi O-Heyo) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Billie Ray Martin - Your loving arms gives good insight into the truths. Ini Kamoze - Here comes the hotstepper pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. It’s such an underrated song. La Bouche - Be my lover one of the best in my collection. The Cranberries - Zombie is just simply stunning. East 17 - Let it rain - A strong beat. Folk - Various Artists offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself.
