Since Folk - Various Artists last CD (The Women 1995) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. ‘The Women 1995′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. For older fans The Women 1995 will put a massive smile accross your face. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Is Fada Liom Uaim I (Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill) - This one is lively and fun. Sliabh Gallion Braes (Dolores Keane) catches attention immediately, Reels- Teh Boys Of The Lough , Upstairs In A Tent (Joanie Madden) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Green Grows The Laurel (Dolores Keane) on The Women 1995 is solid and easy to listen to. Aoife and Orla (Nollaig Casey) is excellent and different song. Lough Erne Shore (Eithne Ni Uallachain) - a classic song. Polkas- The Glinn Cottage, Jer O’connell’s, Tom’s Tavern (Cherish The Ladies) is Folk - Various Artists’s best work in years. Johnny Lovely Johnny (Dolores Keane) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This song may be the most meaningful. An Gabhar Ban (Maire Ni Bhraonain With Clanna) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. The song Digeas A’damhsa (Maire Ni Bhraonain With Clanna) ending is my favorite… so catchy! In Kiss The Maid Behind The Bar , Gan Anim , Mulqueen’s (Siobhan Peoples - Reels) the music gets its power. An Clar Bog Deil (Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh) is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after The Women 1995 have ended. This track is a great song that still never gets old. I came to like Eirigh Suas A Stoirin (Eithne Ni Uallachain). Slow Air , Aisling Jul (Maire Breatnach) is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Women 1995. An Spailpin Fanach (Treasa Ni Mhiollain) is beautiful, yet underrated track. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Hindreo Horo (Maire Ni Chathasaigh) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. I’ve found myself listening to Jigs Cailin Na Seachtaine , The Kirk In The Morning (Maire Ni Ghrada) back to back and back many times.
