It’s natural for Folk - Various Artists to take a stab at ‘Gasn Nign (Alicia Svigals)’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. After seeing Gasn Nign (Alicia Svigals), I had to have a good Folk - Various Artists cd. I am not a real Folk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘V.A. - (1996) Klezmer Music. A Marriage Of Heaven and Eearth’ really is amazing. Gasn Nign (Alicia Svigals) and Mazltov (The Chicago Klezmer Ensamble) is really good.
It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Hongu and Freylekhs From Podoloy (Di Naye Kapelye) is a strong cut, one of many. A Glezele Vayn (La’om) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Badekns Nign (Andy Statman) on V.A. - (1996) Klezmer Music. A Marriage Of Heaven and Eearth is solid and easy to listen to. Voice and instruments in Behusher Khusid (Budowitz) complement each other. I believe Wedding Suite (Deborah Strauss and Jeff Warschauer) is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. Nokh An Anderer Alter Bulgar (Ray Musiker and The Klez) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Folk - Various Artists released so far. Dveykus Nign (Andy Statman) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. I find myself hearing bits of The Black Wedding (Naftule’s Dream) here and there throughout my waking hours. Rufn Di Kinder Aheym (Brave Old World) is one of the best records ever.
