(I Want to Live on an) Abstract Plain presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Teenager of the Year. A great put together song. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Frank Black. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Headache is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. I like Sir Rockaby because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Freedom Rock because the melody in the chorus is so good. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Frank Black is hitting on all cylinders in Fiddle Riddle. This song may be the most meaningful. Fazer Eyes is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Frank Black released so far. I Could Stay Here Forever is a amazing song and it grows on you. Hostess With the Mostest is a strong cut, one of many. Superabound is another strong production from Frank Black. Big Red had me crying as I was able to relate so well. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Opening track White Noise Maker shows the best of Frank Black. Pure Denizen of the Citizens Band on Teenager of the Year is solid and easy to listen to. Some of the arrangements found on Teenager of the Year are surprisingly edgy. Pie in the Sky which is my favorite is a truly Frank Black sounding song.
